Help a child in foster care!!

Voices for Children Montgomery in Maryland
is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for the timely placement of abused and neglected children and for the highest quality of their care while they are under the court's jurisdiction.

This mission is accomplished through the recruitment, training and on-going support and supervision of volunteers from the community who are appointed by the Juvenile Court judges to serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates for these children. CASA Volunteers serve as voices for one of our most vulnerable populations - abused and neglected children.

Volunteer advocates must be at least 21 years of age, have a clear criminal record, and complete CASA's training and screening process. Upon successful completion of the training and screening process, the new volunteer is assigned to a child. Once assigned to a child, the volunteer advocate works with the child and gathers information from everyone in the child's life including the child's biological parents, foster parents, medical and mental health professionals, social workers, therapists, teachers, and attorneys. CASA volunteers meet with their case supervisors on a monthly basis and they work together to formulate written recommendations to the Juvenile Court judges as to the child's best interests. CASA volunteers make critical differences in the lives of the children they serve in a multitude of ways by ensuring that each child receives the services needed to address their medical, emotional and educational needs as well as securing a safe and permanent home in the shortest time possible.

We are currently recruiting volunteers. There are no special educational or professional requirements, but advocates must be at least 21 years old and live in the greater Montgomery County area. Do you have 10-15 hours per month available to make a difference in a child's life?

Please contact our office at (301) 340-7458.
