ORGANIZATION: Animal Rescue New Orleans

  • Responsibilities : Work with behavior team members to respond to email requests for information about shelter animals from the public, and provide advice to fosters or adopters about behavioral issues with the animal. Must be able to recognize when to escalate the behavior issue to the shelter trainer. Come to the shelter at your convenience to socialize with dogs - dog walks, basic obedience training, and play groups. Research and implement in-kennel enrichment activities.
  • Requirements : You must volunteer during regular shifts for 24 hours before being considered for this team. After the 24 hours, you will begin working with and shadowing behavior team members as part of an assessment period before joining the team. Prior shelter volunteer or dog training experience is preferred but not necessary. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Time Commitment: Flexible; ongoing commitment. Training will take 24 hours at your pace with a subsequent trial period.
