We are looking for volunteers who can help the night of the gala, Saturday May 2, 2020. Volunteers will be asked to help manage registration, a very simple process that will be completely outlined during a one-hour training, and to be present and available on the gala floor, where 1,000 guests will be in attendance, to encourage gala guests to vote for the friends whom they've come to support during the dance contest through donations. If you like to get dressed up and have an effervescent personality to which people gravitate, this is the opportunity for you!

Mission Statement

Our mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Description

Dancing Stars of Atlanta is an exciting benefit for the Alzheimer’s Association, GA Chapter. Reinventing the popular show, "Dancing with the Stars", this fundraising event is comprised of local celebrity dancers who are paired with professional ballroom dancers, to raise dollars by gaining votes! The dancers then come together to compete in a one night gala dance competition. Dancing Stars of Atlanta raises money to support research & programs and services provided for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, their families, and caregivers.

Presently, someone develops Alzheimer's every 67 seconds. Alzheimer's is also the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S. and the only one top 10 disease that is increasing. Without your support, the Alzheimer's Association will cease to aid those who are affected by this devastating disease.
