Help coordinate transportation for cancer patients. Volunteer at the American Cancer Society!
You schedule drivers to take patients for rides, using an easy to use database, called Service Match.
Work remotely but attend training VIRTUALLY
We need volunteer coordinators for several counties, namely Berks, Carbon and Schuylkill Counties
You don't need to live where you are coordinating rides, although it is helpful if you do.
We also need Fill In Coordinators to cover for other coordinators while they are on vacation or unavailable.
Description:
Every day, thousands of cancer patients need assistance getting a ride to their treatment. Our Road To Recovery program provides free rides to and from treatment for people with cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves. As a Road to Recovery coordinator, you will organize and manage transportation requests for Berks, Schuylkill or Carbon County. Contact drivers to schedule appointments. Maintain current knowledge of local treatment facilities, their layouts, and policies on parking and outpatient treatment. Confirm status of transportation requests. Training is provided virtually. Must be comfortable using the computer to send emails, etc.
