As a meal delivery volunteer you will be delivering meals to homebound seniors in Dorchester County. The route start to finish will be no longer than 2 hours. Typically, this involves picking up meals at a central location and delivering them along a pre-determined route.
You will be reimbursed for gas mileage.
We will set up a schedule that works with yours. Whether that be once a week, once a month or as needed, just let us know your preferences and we will try to work with them.
We are taking precautions as it pertains to Covid-19. We will provide gloves and sanitizer for all vehicles used for DSI purposes.

Our mission is to provide opportunities to all senior citizens of Dorchester County to enhance their educational, mental, social, spiritual and physical well being. To achieve this goal, Dorchester Seniors, Inc. works cooperatively with other community agencies and organizations through advocacy for senior citizens and inter-agency coordination including outreach, assessing needs and planning actions.
Description
Dorchester Seniors, Inc. operates two senior citizens centers in Dorchester County. The Faith Sellers Senior Center is located in Summerville and The David Sojourner Senior Center is located in St. George. Members must be 50 years of age or older. The center memberships are free to any Dorchester County residents, out of county residents pay a small yearly fee. Activities and programs at the senior centers include physical fitness, education, arts/crafts, trips, and numerous social events. We also provide a number of services such as congregate meals, home-delivered meals, and transportation. as well as information and referrals.
