Hi there!

I am a board member of the local nonprofit b-present. b-present’s purpose is to enhance the lives of young adults with cancer by utilizing a tool that better connects them to their support network, other cancer patients, and spreads awareness about being present in others’ lives. We are a relatively new nonprofit and in need of some extra hands for our upcoming dueling pianos event.

The event will be October 19 th, 2019 at Quartyard in downtown San Diego from 6pm-10pm. Volunteering at this event will include a two-hour shift and then the freedom to enjoy the remainder of the event free of charge. There will be a required online training with more details to come soon.

We would greatly appreciate any help! Please respond through this website or contact me via email if interested: kelly@b-present.org. Here is a link to our website for more detailed information about the organization- https://b-present.org/.

Thank you for your consideration!

Mission Statement

b-present is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that improves the experience of young adults with cancer through programs and digital campaigns that promote connection and support. This mission will be achieved through two initiatives: b-aware and b-connected.

Description

Research has shown when young adults receive adequate social support, they respond better to treatment, recovery times improve, and positive outcomes increase. We’re leveraging these research findings to provide education and resources that focus on strengthening the patient support network. It is within our reach to be better supporters and ensure an improved experience and quality of life for all young adults with cancer.
