Do you have a few hours a month to make a huge difference in someone’s life by assisting with light household chores, pet care, meal preparation, and simply companionship? A fabulous family living with ALS in Miami request assistance 2-4 times/month, depending on your schedule.
Becoming a Visiting Volunteer with The ALS Association Florida Chapter is a heartwarming experience. We require potential Visiting Volunteers to complete an online training process including two reference checks, a short phone interview, and a background check. Volunteers assist with simple tasks of everyday living and are not allowed to help with medical or personal care, finances, or transportation.
Volunteers must be at least twenty-one. Because our Chapter is small and serves nearly 1500 people living with ALS in Florida, we do not have the capacity to screen homes of our constituents prior to a volunteer visiting. When a match is made, we provide the volunteer with a home address.
If this unique opportunity interests you, please respond to this posting or contact Becky Ford, bford@alsafl.org, (813)637-9000 ext. 133, for further information. We hope you consider joining the team!
