Turkey Give-A-Way
When: November 25th, 2019 from 9am-6pm
Distrubtion starts @ 12 pm
Where: Summit Lake Community Center

Turkeys and trimmings will be provided to those who have signed up for the Turkey Give-a-Way. We estimate approximately 500 turkeys will be distributed!
Volunteers are needed for intake, truck unloading, unboxing and sorting, ushering, monintoring stations, running, and clean up. Volunteer activities range from 2 - 3 1/2 hour shifts. You may sign up for more than one shift and/or more than one activity.
We need your help at the Turkey Give-A-Way; a distrubtion that ensures our community members will not face hunger during the Thanksgiving holiday week.
Volunteers should arrive 15 minutes prior to shift start time.

Mission Statement
We provide nutritious and delicious hot meals and grocery bags of food at community centers in Akron area neighborhoods. The hot meals and grocery bags are served in a spirit of encouragement and hospitality to anyone who comes.
Description
Thank you for your interest in Good Samaritan Hunger Center (GSHC). GSHC was the vision of Sister Jordan Haddad and incorporated as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in May 1982. We continue to serve the needs of the hungry in Akron, OH and surrounding communities. At GSHC, hunger is not an option.
GSHC is a mobile food pantry. In 2018, GSHC provided 153,000 meals and this year, GSHC is close to distributing 50,000 pounds of fresh produce. GSHC is also providing 1,000 weekend bags of food per month to a local public elementary school starting in late October.
