Arts Ambassadors NYC

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

We are looking for creative and outgoing teens to serve as Arts Ambassadors (AAs) for the SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company. You can learn about the SoulDeevas at www.souldeevas.com. This opportunity is only open to girls currently in high school. We will also consider 7th and 8th graders.

AAs perform the following tasks from October to June: (a) they help us recruit for all of our teams during tryout seasons; (b) they serve as spokespersons for their individual teams and should be outgoing enough to "perform" for social media exposure; (c) they help do research for their teams; (d) they help plan and execute fundraisers for their team; (e) they will help plan and execute community service projects for their team. AAs become part of the teams that they work with and will be performing and competing along with their team.

We need two (2) AAs for each of the following teams: (a) hip-hop majorettes (grades 6 to 12); (b) step team.

AAs would serve for two hours every Saturday. Majorette AAs would serve from 1:30pm to 3:30pm and Step Team AAs would serve from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. While experience is not necessary - you have to be a fast learner. Practice is held at the Pearl Studios in Midtown Manhattan (West 35th/8th Avenue). AAs would start on October 5th - no later than October 12th. Candidates will have to complete the same paperwork that the team completes.

Interested candidates should respond and let us know what team they want to serve with and what experience they have. They should also confirm whether they can start on October 5th or 12th. AAs can use this experience to fulfill community service hours for their schools and we will complete all required documentation to verify their service.
