About Biscayne National Park
Location:
9700 SW 328th Street, Homestead, FL 33033, US
Mission Statement
Biscayne National Park provides for a unique volunteer experience. We aim to give individuals the opportunity to make a difference in a place of great natural beauty. In an attempt to balance use and preservation, Biscayne is committed to the long term preservation of its 172,971 acres, most of which is under water. Aquatic and marine-based service oriented projects help to further the protection and preservation of this South Florida treasure.
Description
Within sight of downtown Miami, yet worlds away, Biscayne protects a rare combination of aquamarine waters, emerald islands, and fish-bejeweled coral reefs. Here too is evidence of 10,000 years of human history, from pirates and shipwrecks to pineapple farmers and presidents.
