A brand new youth education center and community park is coming to Mission Valley... and you can be a part of it!
The San Diego River Discovery Center at Grant Park will be a special place that brings people together and fosters stewardship of our region’s namesake river. The new facility and park will be located on a 17-acre-river fronting property that includes wetland and coastal sage scrub habitats.
The sensitive environment at this site requires care and maintenance to keep it healthy for local animal species and beautiful for site visitors. The Discovery Center volunteers are the caretakers of the Discovery Center site, doing important work like removing harmful invasive plants, weeding and trimming, collecting native plant seeds, hauling away debris, monitoring plants and animals, and much more. This is a great opportunity to learn about River ecology and get involved with a local project!
