We are looking for 2 individuals that have Event Planning or Marketing Events background to be a part of our Events committee planning our annual Gala and community events through May 2020 for Access Housing. Access Housing provides emergency shelter assistance to families that have come into homelessness, including case management, and connecting to other local services to get the families toward stable housing. Access Housing is located in Commerce City, Colorado and we would like the volunteers to be local within the Denver Metro area to be able to visit venues/locations as well as vendors being considered for our events.

Our Events committee will be working to plan the Gala and a couple of smaller events between September 2019 and May 2020, culminating with the Gala in May 2020.

We are looking for individuals that have helped to plan either nonprofit or corporate events in their job roles and experience. Helping develop strategy with the Committee on ways to build energy and fun into the events and to draw in donors and corporate sponsors to support the mission we provide to our homeless families. Our Gala typically draws 200+ participants and we are looking to grow and scale our ability draw more donors to our cause. We are looking to gather new ideas & thoughts as a small nonprofit to develop a donor base that supports our mission and events. Your insight, knowledge, and guidance will be a valuable asset to our energetic committee. Your experience in using technology such as website, email and mobile to draw in donors for events and communications is welcomed. Your knowledge in developing strategy to connect with audiences is tried & true. Your creativity to draw in donors and corporate connections is well traveled. We are looking to utilize the givelively.org platform for our fundraising platform if you have any experience, that's fantastic!

Description

ACCESS Housing is a housing agency in Commerce City, Colorado that provides support to families in Adams County to help them regain self-sufficiency and get back on their feet. We have two programs that we have in operation:

Family Shelter Program: Our Family Shelter Program is a transitional housing program for families who are on TANF assistance in Adams County. The program provides families with their own 2 bedroom apartment that is fully furnished. The family meets weekly with a Case Manager with the goal of getting each family into permanent housing. Families also have access to our food pantry, clothing, and receive deposit assistance once they have been approved for their new place.

Homeless Prevention Program:
Our Homeless Prevention Program provides rental and utility assistance funds to families in Adams County with the goal of helping them maintain housing stability. In 2020, we helped over 130 families stay in their housing.
