We are going to have information tables at Viva Calle San Jose ( http://www.vivacallesj.org/) on Sunday, September 22 from 10:00AM to 3:00PM on Autumn Street just outside of the SAP Center. Tens of thousands of people will be walking past and we are hoping to collect lots of email addresses and educate the public about our project. We need a few volunteers to tell our story to interested citizens. Would you consider joining us for 2 to 6 hours? If you are available, please let me know what time you’d like to help us. Thanks, as always, for your generous support. We really appreciate it.

About Urban Confluence Silicon Valley

Location:

160 W SANTA CLARA ST, Suite 900, SAN JOSE, CA 95113, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Urban Confluence Silicon Valley is to build an iconic landmark for San Jose and Silicon Valley that is respected by people around the world and is the must-see place to visit in Silicon Valley by both locals and visitors. It will be an impressive and recognizable symbolic structure appropriate for the unique Silicon Valley region that is internationally respected and recognized as the world-wide center of innovation. It will become the architectural and artistic legacy of the current generation of leaders in San Jose and Silicon Valley.

Description

Founded in 2017 by local community leaders, the organization is committed to building a distinctive structure using cutting-edge architecture and technology, while embracing the themes of innovation, collaboration, community building, and international harmony. This artistic icon will serve as the heart for the community, creating a destination for residents and visitors alike and activating the downtown core. The landmark structure will help transform downtown San Jose into a fun, vibrant, and interesting place to spend time for people choosing to work in, live in, or visit this bustling civic center.

Partial inspiration for this civic endeavor comes from the original 237-foot tall San Jose electric light tower constructed in 1881 that spanned the intersection of Santa Clara and Market Streets. This structure made San Jose the first electrified city west of the Rocky Mountains, a source of enormous civic pride. The Eiffel Tower, built in 1889 and designed by Maurice Koechlin, was partially inspired by the original San Jose tower.
