The Alzheimer's Association Memories in the Making program is a program designed to allow individuals with mild cognitive impairment and early- to mid-stages of Alzheimer's Disease and related dementias to create imaginative and colorful watercolor paintings. This one-of-a-kind program provides these individuals with the opportunity to engage socially and reminisce about meaningful life moments, individuals or personal interests. These memories also tend to rekindle communications with family, friends are caregiver in an emotionally safe environment with positive messages.
The Alzheimer's Association is looking for an individual who is compassionate and is motivated in engaging people living with dementia. No background in art is necessary, but if you are passionate about art and helping others, this would be a great volunteer position for you!
