As part of our Future Focus Program EfTA will be providing a career panel for the Career Classes at Washington Jr. High in Conroe, TX. We are looking for five volunteers for each class to come and participate in a Q & A session with 8th-grade students. Professionals will be asked to share their life experience and expertise for these students as they enter into high school and start making decisions for their future.
We will be meeting on Thursday, November 21 and Friday, November 22. Classes are 90 minutes long and you are welcome to sign up for multiple classes as the students will be different each time. A new thing we are adding this semester in an all Spanish Speaking Panel for a group of their students. This session will take place from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm on November 21. The sign up for this session can be found below.
Thursday, November 21 - 9:15 to 10:45, 10:50 to 12:50 (lunch included), 12:55 to 2:25, 2:30 to 4:00, 2:30 to 4:00 (Spanish speaking session)
Friday, November 22 - 9:15 am - 10:45 am, 10:55 am - 12:50 pm (Lunch included), 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Description
EfTA offers programs that are facilitated by professionals serving as volunteer judges, speakers, and mentors.
SCI://TECH - Hundreds of K-12 youth compete for recognition, cash prizes and scholarships, and advancement to larger competitions. Volunteers from the community judge entries and provide valuable feedback and encouragement in a variety of categories.
STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - High school juniors and seniors spend 80 houus working unpaid at a local business within their chosen profession, learning the challenges and rewards first-hand. Program culminates in a half-day conference and luncheon with all participating students and mentors.
CHOICES - 8th grade students explore the relationship between choices and consequences, and learn how responsible choices increase their life options in this interactive program proven to increase student high-school retention.
EfTA also maintains a list of speakers for occasions when local schools seek presentations on specific industries and career tracks.
