Support needed to register over 3000 families in need for the 2019 Angel Tree program. Without the support of the community through The Salvation Army, thousands of children, and seniors would miss the joy and excitement of Christmas.
Volunteers are needed for processing applications, data entry and inside/outside crowd management. Please note: if you have or plan to sign up yourself for a famly member to be an Angel, you may not volunteer for Angel Tree Registration.
Billingual volunteers are also very much needed for this program, but that is not a requirement. Snacks and drinks will be provided. New this year, Volunteers will be stationed at our Citadel Corps, 1019 North Moore Road.
Shifts are as follows:
Oct 21,23,25,28,30,31, Nov1, 8:00am-12:30pm & 12:30pm-4:00pm
Oct 22, 24,29, 8:00am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-4:00pm, 4:00pm-7:00pm

Description
Since the very beginning, volunteers have stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Salvation Army officers to provide help for the poor and downtrodden and those affected by natural disasters. In fact, the name "The Salvation Army" came about in 1878 when William Booth adapted it from a phrase he read in a report that described the organization as a "volunteer army."
There are opportunities to help all throughout the year. Individuals and groups are needed to help with a variety of projects, including: serving meals to homeless individuals, helping at a food pantry, serving as a coach for youth sports teams, helping low-income children with homework after school, securing donations of school supplies for underprivileged children and many more. (Specific volunteer roles will vary from one Salvation Army center to another.)
The Salvation Army is truly an army of volunteers. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our ministry. The Salvation Army sincerely appreciates and welcomes all volunteers.

- Please feel free to sign up for more than one shift and/or back-to-back shifts. Also, if possible please arrive for your FIRST shift 5 minutes early to receive training on the registration process.
