Are you interested in helping us create a safe and fun event for children to celebrate Halloween? Whether you're a student needing volunteer hours, a kind-hearted citizen who enjoys volunteering at events or a corporate neighbor who prides yourself on giving back to the community, Frying Pan Farm Park has a role for you at our BOO-stravaganza event!
Help set-up at Frying Pan Park's Indoor Arena in preparation for the Boo-Straveganza event. The event is a Halloween-themed event for 3-8-year-olds. Set-up shifts are from 10 am - 1pm & 1pm-4 pm. Event set-up tasks include:
- Setting up games for participants to play
- Setting up a mini-golf course
- Decorating the Indoor Arena with spider webs & streamers
- Decorating the Boo-Barn (a not-too-scary "haunted" barn) by setting up spooky scenes
Volunteers must be 14 or old, children 12 and older welcomed with an adult.

Mission Statement
Volunteer Fairfax is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1975. For the past 45 years, our mission has been to create a better community through service, to mobilize people and resources to benefit the community and to connect individuals, youth, groups and corporations to volunteer opportunities.
Description
As the regional volunteer center for the National Capital region, Volunteer Fairfax serves the community in a wide variety of ways.
We provide Information and Referral services to community residents interested in volunteering through VolunteerNow. Individuals may also become engaged though a variety of service programs the Center offers including Volunteers for Change, which provides evening and weekend volunteer projects for busy adults; RSVP, a service program that invites people who are 55+ to engage in their community; and, Volunteer Emergency Management Team, a group of volunteers specially trained and prepared to help the community in the event of a disaster. Additionally, for those seeking opportunities to serve court-appointed hours, we have established the Alternative Community Service Program.
Volunteer Fairfax regularly hosts special events and invites youth and families to volunteer together. These volunteer special events include VolunteerFest in October and Give Together in January on the Martin Luther King Day of Service.
Volunteer Fairfax supports both nonprofits and for-profit organizations. To learn more about our services check out our website, www.volunteerfairfax.org.
