Less privileged

Back to school project initiative

Educating and providing writing, reading materials, school bags and school sandals to the less privilege school pupils in the south eastern Nigerian affected by Covid-19 pandemic 2020 -2021 academic session. It is a right and not a privilege for them. Refusing to offer education or education materials, support to those unfortunate ones whose only misfortune stems from poor parentage, the world definitely spells doom for the society. Educating the less privilege anywhere in the world would conform to one of the millennial development goals of the United Nations.

Educating the less privilege will give them the opportunity to learn not only to read and write but to expose them to the realities of the world in which they live, including advances made in the realm of science and technology so far. Such an effort that is given the less privilege in Nigerian society will ultimately make them become useful citizens who will, using education acquired, contribute meaningfully to the society, giving enabling environment.

There are well-known hurdles to scale through in a bid to call the attention of the less privilege in the society. As the widespread incidence of poverty pervades the land, most of the less privileged, have been forced by their parents or guardians to engage in hawking, street begging, selling of vegetables and fruits, all in the bid to survive, pay school fees and also buy writing and reading materials etc.

The fact is that these pupils need reorientation and support in various schools that will include providing writing and reading materials, school bags and sandals to make them feel like other pupils in their schools.

HSDF intends to appeal for financial and materials assistance to philanthropic organizations, public-spirited people, private contributions by touching their conscience to appreciate the urgent need to help out to guarantee the future development of the underprivileged pupils who are willing to study.
We foundation requires both financial and material assistance, without which the planned initiative wouldn’t continue to hold.

This is virtual opportunity.

HSDF solicit for volunteers interventions local and abroad to help us to achieve our goal, knowing that granting education to those less privileges will not only guarantee their future but also help to curb joblessness incidence and will help in reducing crime in the society.
