Telephone Befriender - Medway

We are seeking Telephone Befrienders where our volunteers would attend our Medway Office over a couple of hours a week with a list of approximately 5 clients to call. The aim of the calls are to help a person in need by encouraging and enabling them to become more confident and less lonely and isolated through your conversation and support. You would need to type or write up a short description of the conversation, how they are feeling and note any improvements to enable their progress to be tracked.

There will be a member of staff available to support you if needed and training will be provided.

You would be ideal for Telephone Befriending if you have a genuine desire to support people and possess the ability to have fun and to engage in conversation with an older person on a mutual basis, building trust and confidence.
