Lauritzen Gardens is a living museum of unique four-season plant displays, maintained to the highest standards consistent with environmental stewardship. It provides memorable educational and aesthetic experiences for all. As part of our mission of providing an educational experience to our guests, Lauritzen Gardens hosts free field trips for school-aged children during the Fall and Spring. These tour attract schools across the Omaha Metropolitan Area and thousands of children each school year. Being able to provide this experience to youth is a joy and we love having them here to explore our 100-acres of lush, beautiful gardens.

Currently we are seeking volunteers to run stations throughout our gardens to educate kids on plants and animals. We will provide training and all the information needed to run these stations. Volunteers are free to teach the stations however they wish as long as they stick to the overall theme; the themes that we teach include pollination, birds, germination, endangered animals, food chains/web, and life cycles. You do not need to be a licensed teacher to join us for this opportunity, you simply need to have a passion for working with kids and engaging with our gardens.
