Go back in time to the Jazz Age at Raleigh’s inaugural Roaring Raleigh Lawn Party this Fall. This unique 1920’s inspired event will feature dance performances and lessons, roving entertainers, model T cars, vintage clothing vendors and more. Local favorites, Mint Julip Jazz Band will headline the main stage. Russ Wilson will DJ, the barbershop quartet, Never 4 Home will perform and the NC Youth Tap Ensemble will show off their dancing talents.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1920’s attire. There will prizes for best dressed and best picnic set up. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site.

Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will aid in the set up, running of, and break down of the Roaring Raleigh Lawn Party. Duties may include manning the informational booth, running games and activities, and assisting with art projects.

Volunteer Impact:
By helping with one of the first large events in the square, you are helping aid in the activation of a new and improved public space.

Work Environment:
It will be outdoor, loud and possibly crowded. This is a festival with amplified sound.

Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All volunteers will need to sign a release form.

Special Instructions:
We will supply a staff badge and water. No special parking instructions.

Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
