Paint Tacoma Beautiful
is a program that offers free exterior painting to low income homeowners during the spring and summer months. Together, we beautify the city one home at a time while supporting neighbors in need.

We are recruiting individuals and teams to prep and paint houses from May - September 2020. Adopt a whole house from start to finish, or help out for just one day, or one weekend. A variety of roles are available for yard work, paint prep, painting, hospitality, photography, and more!

  • Connect with your community, and meet new people in Tacoma
  • Gain skills in exterior painting, home repair, and project management
  • No prior experience necessary

Since 1985 Paint Tacoma Beautiful has mobilized volunteers to paint houses free of charge for more than 2,200 low income, elderly, and disabled homeowners across Pierce County. This is a great opportunity for teams to visually see the impact they are making, and build community.

Are you ready to paint Tacoma beautiful? Contact Mary Herman, Program Outreach Coordinator, at or 253-383.3056 ext. 127.

*COVID-19 Update: We are continuing to recruit volunteers for this opportunity in hopes that it is not affected by the COVID-19 virus. We are assembling online training materials for volunteers, and maintaining course for a May start date. If this should change, we will contact all volunteer applicants. Thank you.
