At Charter, our volunteers are at the heart of our program. They have been inspired to become medical professionals because of their exposure to caring for our hospice patients who are nearing the end of life. These volunteers have remarkable compassion and caring nature that brings tremendous joy to our patients and their families.

With our program, our volunteers have the chance to share their area of interest and incorporate it into their duties as volunteers . Many times the volunteer may also have life skills that they want to utilize when volunteering. Some of these may include:

  • Reading to a patient

  • Assisting in writing a letter

  • Listening to music with a patient

  • Crocheting blankets

  • Playing cards or board games

  • Light housekeeping

  • Shopping for patient

  • Making calls to patient

If you're looking to gain some experience or express interest in getting into the medical field or just wanting to help others out of the goodness of your heart, this opportunity is right for you!
