VOLUNTEER ADULT ESL AIDE NEEDED
Volunteer as an English as a Second Language (ESL) Aide for Adults, for 3 hours a week (more if you'd like). Classes are in San Pablo at an elementary school near Contra Costa College. We meet Monday-Thursday mornings during the regular school year. The majority of the students are Hispanic, so some Spanish would be helpful, but not necessary. There is currently an opening for Monday mornings, and a temporary opening for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Classes start next Tuesday, September 3rd. Aides play an important role in the classroom assisting individual students, working with students in groups, helping the teacher model dialogues, checking student work and giving them feedback, etc. No previous experience is necessary - just a desire to interact with students and help them work on their English skills. Our students greatly appreciate our helping them to improve their lives. This is a rewarding experience - guaranteed! Interested in a rewarding volunteer opportunity working in a fun filled and relaxed environment? If it's a good fit, the possibility of a paid position may exist. Please email me with your contact information and the best time to reach you. Thank you!
