Support early childhood literacy and education with logistical and administrative support in the Raising a Reader book sharing program! We circulate books among thousands of low-income families across several counties to build reading skills and literary appreciation in kids before they go into grade school. Our program is backed by developmental science, and the results have far exceeded our expectations. However there is so much more to be done, and we need your help to ensure that every child in our community has the support they need to succeed in grade school and beyond.
The Logistical Associate is critical to alleviate the constant pressures on Raising a Reader. Our books are continuously circulating, and go through a lot of wear and tear. The LA will help maintain the current supply, secure new books, and periodically update the inventory list. You do not need specialized skills for this position, but can gain valuable experience in administration, office management, and even Excel, should you desire. Furthermore, you will have the knowledge that you are making a meaningful difference to address the educational disparities that result from inequality in our country. Support your community and gain valuable professional development. Be an LA with Raising a Reader.
