Community Dinner (Cleanup)
ORGANIZATION: The Commonwealth of Oakland
Please visit the new page to apply.
A spiritual practice of our community is a free dinner that we serve every month. It draws folks together from the universities, the neighborhood, and the homeless community.
You can serve on the cleanup crew by bussing the dining room, handwashing dishes, or drying dishes. Arrive by 6pm to enjoy dinner first!
Being in the kitchen during cleanup is one of the best places to connect with the community. Music is playing, conversation is flowing, and jokes are flying. When we clean and organize our stuff it prepares us for our next event!

Description
A spiritual practice of our community is a free dinner that we serve every month. It draws folks together from the universities, the neighborhood, and the homeless community.
Our menus embody quality, quantity and variety. Our tables are laid with colorful cloths, dishware, and flowers. Our food is served family-style. And our volunteers always sit down to eat and talk. It's a family dinner.
