The Westbank Boys & Girls Club serves 100 members over the school year through our Power Hour program. This program allows us to focus on homework assistance for our members and unlock their unlimited academic potential!
To volunteer during this time (4:00 - 5:00 PM), you would be assisting our staff with our members in K - 9th grades with their homework and other academic projects.
Volunteers working individually must complete a volunteer application. Once the application is completed, volunteers must have a background check performed as well as attend an orientation session. We also ask that volunteers pay a $10 fee to cover the cost of their required background check when they complete their application. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Jane Lowery at 504-368-3434 or sjlowery@bgcsela.org
Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to work directly with youth. See below for more information for volunteer opportunities for youth between the ages of 16-18 years. Please note that we do not allow volunteers completing court-ordered/recommended community service (no matter the offense) to work in our Clubs.More opportunities with Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Louisiana
