First Family Food Market

ORGANIZATION: DC Bilingual PCS

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

Every month, DC Bilingual and the Capitol Area Food Bank partner up to deliver a big amount of groceries to be distributed for DCB families and community members for free! This is a really important support system for families that might need to close the gap in their grocery supply and we need help making it happen!

Volunteers will be needed for the setup, duration, and breakdown portion of the market.

  • Setup: This portion includes lifting boxes from the delivery truck and bring them inside the school. We will also unpack items and organize the market before opening.
  • Market: We will need help with operating the market. This includes directing, checking in, and making sure each family takes their allotted portion. This market we especially need bilingual volunteers since we are onboarding families onto a new tracking system.
  • Breakdown: After the market, we will need to repack whatever was not taken, recycle cardboard boxes, and leave the space clean.

You're welcome to come and stay for as long as you can! Once again, we strongly encourage bilingual volunteers to attend!
