Volunteer Opportunity- Check-In Tent *Mobile Check-In!
Seeking 25+ volunteers to help us with mobile check-in on October 20th. Volunteers at the check-in tent will use their personal mobile device and hook up to a hotspot. Volunteers will be checking in the participants of event and collecting donations.
Prior to event, an American Cancer Society, staff person will email you the steps to ensure your readiness for the event day. A 1 hour training is required, which can be taken at the local office (7 Ridgedale Ave, Suite 103, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927) or via Zoom Call. In addition to the training, we will provide you with resources and will have a quick recap training on October 20th.
You have to be 18 years or older to volunteer in this tent.

Some general notes about volunteering:
Date: Sunday, October 20, 2019
Time: If you are volunteering at the registration/check-in tent, please arrive at 6:45AM. All volunteers need to allow enough time to check themselves in at the volunteer tent and change into volunteer shirt. A light breakfast and coffee will be available.
Parking: Parking will be available at the following locations in Parsippany: 1599 Littleton Road, 1, 5, & 7 Sylvan Way and 8 Campus Drive. If you require handicap parking, please specify.
Attire: Comfortable and warm- gloves, hat, sneakers, socks, stretchy clothes. Please be advised that the volunteer shirts are long sleeved this year, but you will still need to layer underneath the T-Shirt.
Prepare to greet walkers with warm smiles (for a few hours, you are the face of the American Cancer Society), you may be asked to lift small boxes or walk short distances.
All American Cancer Society events are non-smoking. Thank you.
Making Strides of Parsippany Info:
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Parsippany has been in the community for over 23 years. Last year, we hosted over 10,000 community members who raised over $711,000! There is no registration fee for this event, we just ask our participants to fundraise and donate what they can. This is a non-competitive 3 mile walk.

Celebrating more than 25 years of saving lives nationwide, American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks unite communities to honor those touched by the disease and raise awareness and funds for a world without breast cancer. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation, uniting more than 1.2 million passionate participants supporting the noncompetitive three- to five-mile walks each year. Dollars raised help the American Cancer Society fund innovative breast cancer research, provide education and guidance to help people reduce their risk, and offer comprehensive patient support to those who need it most.
