Digital Literacy Tutor/ Instructor Position is based in Samuel Field Center

  • Teach basic to intermediate computer classes to adults
  • Offer one on one tutoring sessions and/ or small group workshops
  • Basic computer classes include: Keyboarding, data entry, setting up and learning how to use an email account, MS Word, MS Excel
  • Intermediate computer classes include: MS Word, Excel, Completing an online application, Setting up and learning how to use Linkedin

  • Sensitive to the needs of others and able to provide constructive feedback to clients
  • Flexible and able to adapt instructional sessions to client's needs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Resume Writer and/or Mock Interviewer Assist youth and adults in the adult workforce program update or create a resumes, create cover letters and prepare for interviews. Must be passionate about developing social and economic opportunities for individuals from various backgrounds Skills

Commonpoint Queens is a non-profit, multi-service agency with flagship sites in Little Neck, Bayside, Forest Hills, and 33 additional sites throughout the community that provides a diverse array of programs and services to over 35,000 people. Since our inception, almost 60 years ago, the Samuel Field Y has been dedicated to the core element of our mission - enhancing the quality of individual, family and communal life through service to people of all ages, ability levels, stages of life and backgrounds.

Description

For almost 60 years, Commonpoint Queens (formerly The Samuel Field and Central Queens YMWHA) has remained strong and vital and has continued to provide new and innovative programs to the greater Northeast Queens and Western Nassau communities.

As we embark on our sixth decade of providing high quality programs and services to our community, individuals of all ages learn and flourish within a caring and supportive environment at one of our 36 different sites throughout our neighborhoods.

We continue to provide life enhancing and life sustaining services to the over 35,000 people who depend on us to be their community center at each stage of their lives.
