The Greenwich United Way’s (GUW) dual philanthropic model includes 2 ways we help the community.

  • Direct Impact Programming (Early Childhood Achievement Gap Solutions, Youth Impact Programming and Human Services Technology Solutions)
  • Community Investment Process (CIP)

Direct Impact’s 3 programs are critical to meeting the unmet needs in the town of Greenwich. All 3 address specific issues that arose from our Needs Assessment (periodic publication of human service issues in the town of Greenwich).

Our Community Investment Process, also addressing needs that arise from our Needs Assessment, depends on volunteers who review agency grant applications, make site visits, fill out a rubric and summary, and then make recommendations to the GUW Board for funding to those agencies based on the information assessed. It is one of the most important processes we undertake, the money the GUW raises all year long through our Annual Campaign, is what funds these grant applications to agencies that serve the most vulnerable of our community.
