VITAS Healthcare is currently looking for a Memory Bear Delivery volunteer for the Festus area. A volunteer is needed to deliver Memory Bears to caregivers and families of patients that have lost a loved patient on hospice at VITAS. The deliveries would be to homes in the Festus and Jefferson County areas. VITAS' Memory Bear Volunteers make home-sewn bears with compassion and love to ease a hurting heart after the death of a VITAS patient. The bears are sewn from items of the patient's clothing: a favorite button down shirt, t-shirt, pair of pants, pullover top, sweatshirt, dress, etc. Direct supervision will be provided from VITAS Staff and the Volunteer Services Manager. This volunteer position is flexible but would require some hours during the work week, Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm in order to pick up the bears.
