Overview: We are in search of a committed Volunteer Director of Development to bolster our philanthropic endeavors. This role involves nurturing our valued community of major donors, developing and executing fundraising strategies, and ensuring our organization's visibility and impact grow continually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champion the development and maintenance of our major donor community through diverse fundraising channels like major gifts, corporate partnerships, special events, and digital campaigns.
  • Craft and sustain strategies to enhance the organization's visibility, impact, and financial foundations.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership to define and achieve annual fundraising targets.
  • Create and manage a detailed grant calendar, ensuring alignment with our organizational objectives.
  • Innovate strategies to nurture existing donor relationships, encouraging increased contributions and network involvement.
  • Partner with senior leaders to identify and tap potential revenue opportunities from both existing and new content and programs.
  • Design and execute a planned giving initiative.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with the team to identify, assess, and engage potential donors.
  • Guide and mentor staff, fellows, and volunteers in donor relations, ensuring clarity in fundraising objectives and achievements.
  • Design impactful communications showcasing the significance of contributing to the organization and the tangible differences being made.
  • Develop and disseminate key promotional messages across diverse channels, including digital and print, to elevate the organization's visibility and donor engagement.
  • Monitor fundraising metrics, ensuring timely reports to senior management and the Advisory Board.
  • Oversee the adoption and efficient use of our chosen donor management software.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in management roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fundraising for non-profits, with a track record of achieving multi-channel revenue objectives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a history of maintaining fruitful relations with stakeholders like board members, donors, and foundations.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, enabling influence across the organizational spectrum.
  • Prior involvement in planned giving campaigns and solicitations.

  • A natural flair for cultivating relationships internally and externally.
