VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE IN NORTHEAST FLORIDA.

Volunteer with your pet to serve the community in a variety of settings. This is not a virtual volunteer job, but one where you can choose where you volunteer. We are recruiting pet owners to get training and registration (which provides insurance) to become a therapy animal team with your pet.

Imagine visiting a children's hospital with your Golden Retriever, or an assisted living facility with your Persian Cat. There are therapy programs at the courthouse, the airport, hospice, working with special needs children, and many more. There is even a program for children in schools with a reading component. There are not enough therapy animal teams for the number of programs in our area.

Does your pet love people? With the right temperament and training, any dog can be a therapy animal. But its not just dogs!! There are 9 species that are eligible to do pet therapy. Dogs, cats, equines (both full size and mini), guinea pigs, rats, birds, llamas/alpacas, pigs, and rabbits. If you have any of these species as a pet, and they meet the criteria, you could be participating in the best volunteer job ever.

Make your own schedule, choose the facility/organization that you're comfortable with and that matches the personality of your animal. Therapy Animal Coalition will be with you every step of the way. We will help you find training, point you in the right direction in terms of registering organizations, and we will assist you in finding the right place to volunteer.
