POSITION SUMMARY
Provide assistance to Front Desk staff with clerical duties, daily operations, program, services, scanning
documents, and small projects as needed. Greet families in the lobby of the South King County Family
Resource Center in Kent. Greet donors and assist with in-kind donation intake.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Strive to remain compassionate, non-judgmental, flexible, and impartial when assisting people that
have lifestyles, spiritual beliefs, and interests that are different from your own
* Respect the privacy of children, families, and staff; abide by the Volunteer Program’s confidentiality
policies
* Serve as an ambassador of Children’s Home Society of Washington by welcoming families as they
enter the office
* Assist program staff in maintaining a clean and organized front lobby
* Help with in-kind donation intake, greeting the donor and assisting them in completing the in-kind gift
receipt
* Assist staff in providing emergency diapers, food, and other basic need items for families
* Answer telephone calls and transfer calls to appropriate extension
* Provide front desk coverage during breaks and/or staff meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education and Experience:
Required:
* Minimum 18 years of age
* Available between 9:00am-5:00pm for a 3 hour shift on the same day/time each week
* Ability to interact with a variety of people
* Respect of diverse lifestyles, cultures, religions, and values
* Must be able to safely lift up to 40 pounds
