ORGANIZATION: Fargo VA Health Care System

The Primary Care Department at the Fargo VA is seeking a volunteer office assistant to help Veterans with the Home Health program. This flexible volunteer position requires a minimum two hours each week and allows volunteers to pick a schedule based on their needs.

Volunteers will work directly with the Administrative Coordinator to. . .
-Prepare envelopes and assist with various mailings
-Filing Home Health Documents
-Photocopying as needed for scanning
-Pick up and deliver mail
-Notify management when low on supplies and labels
-Update Home Health agency addresses as needed
-Communicate with MSA, nursing providers, and other clinical staff
-Identify work flow barriers and solutions between the VA and HH agencies
-Special projects as needed

This flexible position is great for college students looking to gain hospital experience and practice using Vista and other VA related programs. Volunteers for this position dedicate 2-4 hours per week centered around their schedule.

*The Fargo VA has a 50 hour lifetime volunteer requirement, and all volunteers must pass a background check, submit to a TB test, and must be vaccinated for COVID-19 and influenza
*Due to COVID-19 precautions, all volunteers, employees, and guests must wear a face mask at all times.
