Join us for ghastly games, spooktacular activities, fang-tastic crafts, and more at our annual Boo Bash! This event includes even more fun, chills and thrills, games, candy, and plenty of creepy scares for the whole family to ex-FEAR-ience. Volunteers are the key to making this event a success!
Volunteer Duties:
- Trunk or Treat - Volunteers will hand out treats to participants (contact Jamie.Quinn@raleighnc.gov for more information if you are willing to use your car for this activity).
- Spooky Bus - Volunteers will dress up in provided costumes and act out a scene.
- Carnival Games - Volunteers will run the different carnival games and provide treats to participants.
- Arts and Crafts - Volunteers will teach participants how to do arts and crafts and keep supplies stocked.
- Haunted Maze - Volunteers will hand out candy, direct people through the maze, and hand out scavenger hunt sheets.
Volunteer Impact:
Volunteers will get to provide a service to the community and promote the benefits of recreation/activity.
Work Environment:
Trunk or Treat, Carnival Games, and Arts and Crafts will be low-activity stations and will have quiet environments. The Spooky Bus requires a bit more physical activity and will have a louder environment.
Volunteer Requirements:
Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer. Those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All volunteers must complete a release form. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian signature.
Special Instructions:
Treats will be provided to pass out, so no volunteers need items to hand out. Costumes are always welcomed and encouraged. Trunk or Treat volunteers who are willing to use their car are asked to contact Jamie at Jamie.Quinn@raleighnc.gov for further details on where to go and what to expect. All volunteers will need to be parked and ready for an initial meeting by 4:30 p.m.
Group Registration Information:
Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email mary.owens@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
