CUMALI stands for Chicago Urban Ministries And Life Intervention. This organization works together as a team to aid and serve the most vulnerable on the streets who have established survival outside. Your job would be to join the initiative in the kitchen to prepare, cook food and package it to be distributed to individuals who need it the most. The population we serve are members of the community who suffer from debilitating physical conditions and mental health problems who may have given up on shelters and working but never the less still need our attention and help. If you are inclined to give back to underserved people and make a powerful impact through a network of good people helping others, this is the place you need to be!

We have a small assembled team that regularly meets Monday afternoons from 2-5pm. We have a designated team leader to help guide the preparation and cooking process. We receive a lot of donated food from Casinos and sometimes have to cook up food that has been frozen. The duties are to cook the food, box the food in trays, prepare the boxes for transport, and do a quick clean up. All operations are out of the kitchen of the Parish Hall at Church of Our Saviour 530 W Fullerton Pkwy.
