ORGANIZATION: DELTA ANALYTICS

  • 13 people are interested

Every year, Delta Analytics engages in 6-month long data science and data analytics projects with nonprofits from around the world. These projects are staffed by our data fellows, who are data professionals in the San Francisco Bay Area who work pro-bono alongside their full-time jobs.

The Fellowship team supports these projects, helping to recruit, train, and support our data fellows throughout the course of the project. Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Spearheading marketing campaign and outreach activities to recruit Fellows to staff our project teams.
  • Collaborating with the Project Operations committee to identify the educational background and work experience that each project requires.
  • Engaging with guest speakers who work at the intersection of technology and the social sector.
  • Organize work sessions, skills workshops, and networking events to build a community of data professionals.
Note that although data skills are not required for this role, experience with either the nonprofit community or data analysis would be helpful for understanding how the organization operates.

Mission Statement

Delta Analytics collaborates with non-profits to generate positive social impact through key data insights and management services. Driven by a passion for numbers and dedication to community engagement, we help public service organizations with all their data-driven needs. Our mission, quite simply, is data for change.

Description

Delta Analytics was founded by a group of San Francisco Bay Area economic consultants seeking to leverage their data skills for the welfare of the community. While our primary background is in the private sector, we are taking our skillset and using a similar approach to generate progress in the non-profit sector. We find the data questions of the social sector fascinating and address them with an eye towards high impact and sustainability.

At Delta Analytics, our expertise is transforming raw data into meaningful and useful information for public service. Our projects range from compiling metrics to managing databases or producing statistical inference. Through data, we facilitate the organization, measurement, and creation of social change.
