Monster Scramble 5K/10K

The National MS Society is looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming event - Monster Scramble 5K/10K: Buffalo held on Sunday, October 13 at Holy Cross Cemetery. Monster Scramble 5K/10K: Buffalo is a unique chip-timed, Halloween themed 5K/10K fundraising event, full of chills and thrills, spooky costumes, and sweet treats. The event will also include a one-mile, kid friends trick-or-treat family fun walk.

Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, corporate and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during, and after our events. There is only one requirement: a desire to end MS now!

Monster Scramble 5K/10K: Buffalo - Volunteer Positions

Event Day Support Team:

Description: Volunteers will provide support to various participant areas including, but not limited to: Parking, Trick-or-Treat Station, Food & Beverage and more!

Photography Team:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will take photos of participants and sponsors at the event

Trick-or-Treat Station:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will be assigned to one of the trick-or-treat stations along our one-mile walk route to distribute treats and cheer on walkers.

Site Set Up Team:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will help with site set up the morning of the event. Heavy lifting is involved - no seated positions.

Site Breakdown Team:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will help take down signs, break down tables and pack up event items. Heavy lifting is involved - no seated positions.

Spirit Team:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will cheer for the participants as they cross the finish line. Volunteers are asked to bring lots of enthusiasm, spirit and cheer!

Volunteer Check-in:

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019

Description: Volunteers will check-in volunteers and direct them to assigned locations.

Description

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society funds more MS research, offers more services to people with MS, provides more professional education programs and advances more MS advocacy efforts than any other MS organization in the world. Through its home office and fifty-state network of chapters, the National MS Society provides assistance to over a million people annually in its continuing mission to end the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis.

Seeking out and engaging volunteers to the MS cause is at the very core of our business. Each year the Society organizes a series of community events that provide many opportunities for the enthusiastic volunteer. The Society offers three key fundraising activities: The Bike MS Ride, Walk MS and Walk MS Challenge. The Society also engages volunteers to help influence law-makers at the federal, state and municipal levels toward legislation important to people with MS. The Society is looking for passionate volunteers with expertise in areas such as: marketing communications, public relations, corporate and donor development, medical, legal, administrative and organizational expertise.
