Help E7 Kids Cafe provide students at William Wells Brown with the relationships and resources they need to excel at school and in life! Your positive encouragement and energy can help inspire curiosity and cultivate creativity for kiddos after school!

Volunteer hours: Tuesday and Thursday of each week from 4:15 - 5pm, at William Wells Brown Elementary

Volunteer duties include:

  • Shared reading with students
  • Tutoring in elementary math and reading
  • Mentor relationship building with students
Come share your encouragement, smiles, and academic help with E7 students and make a difference in the lives of kiddos in our community!

Description

We are an afterschool and summer community center located at the corner of N. Upper and Fourth Street. In 1999, we started solely as a Kid's Cafe venue where we fed children 18 and under with food donated by God's Pantry. Our center has evolved into a place where kids from the neighborhood can come get help with homework, develop meaningful and positive relationships, have a free meal, take field trips and be in a fun and safe place.

  • In order to develop the meaningful relationships that truly benefit our students, E7 asks that volunteers commit to at least one day a week for one semester (about three months).
  • Volunteers will need to attend a training with E7 Kids Cafe, and will have to fill out an E7 background check as well as an FCPS background check.
