Looking to take your HR education to the next level with an HR-specific internship? Join the Human Resources team at Northside Hospital. Please note: this is an unpaid internship specifically for those pursuing post-secondary education in Human Resources Management.
About the Internship:
With full adherence to the confidentiality policies of both patients’ protected health information and hospital business/contract/employee relations and negotiations, the volunteer intern assists in Human Resources (HR). The intern applies classroom coursework learning to the role and shadows the department VP and/or his/her designee, and may be assigned to special projects related to that department’s successful operation and/or enhancement of services. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Employee/volunteer badge creation
- Auditing staff licenses/certifications
- Working in concert with the rewards and recognition team focusing on hospital culture
- Observing/shadowing employee relations issues
- Observing/shadowing HR VP and HR Business Partner responsibilities
- Processing HR paperwork and completing HR transactional assignments
- Coordinating and planning HR events
- Has proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to learn additional software and HR applications
- Other duties, as assigned
