We need YOU.
The Florida Humanist Association conference, FREEFLO, incorporates on-site service projects to engage attendees in making a difference. BE. Orlando is proud to host and manage the projects, but we need a few volunteers to help at the service stations - can you help?
Volunteers will be trained on-site to explain the project flow to guests and help guests with the process. There are three projects: assembling meal packs for at-risk youth (in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank), the Positive Postcard Project, and a STEM-themed toy drive.
Volunteer shifts are available and you can choose to help through the whole event or just for a morning or afternoon.

About BE. Orlando
Are you up for a unique challenge? Make a difference with an organization that is focused on overcoming social stigma and uplifting a marginalized demographic.
Did you know...There are non-religious people and people of religious minorities who avoid donating, volunteering, pursuing employment in social services, or even seeking needed assistance because of potential bias against them at non-profits and in our culture? Through service, advocacy, and education, BE. Orlando works to overcome stereotypes about non-religious people and inspire charities to be welcoming and safe places for people of all religious, secular, and spiritual identities.
BE. Orlando brings compassionate atheists, humanists, freethinkers, and other non-religious identities, as well as allies of faith, together to make a positive difference in the community through volunteerism and philanthropy.

Mission Statement
BE. brings compassionate atheists, humanists, freethinkers, and other non-religious identities, as well as allies of faith, together to make a difference in the community and overcome stereotypes about non-religious people through service, advocacy, and education.
Description
Because of the faith bias at many non-profits, non-religious people often hesitate to volunteer, donate, pursue social service careers, or even seek needed services. Serving together builds bridges across our differences. Since 2011 we have engaged the secular community in volunteerism in Central Florida. We serve openly as a non-faith organization; our service makes a difference while helping to overcome biases against the rapidly increasing secular demographic. We are a chapter of the American Humanist Association and a gold level service team with the national Foundation Beyond Belief. Programs include volunteer activities for groups and individuals, speaking to local organizations about inclusion and religious diversity, consulting with non-profits about Humanism, a Humanist Chaplain, and other resources, advocacy, and initiatives to support our mission.
