Drive Cancer Patients from Woodburn to Salem

ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

  • 2 people are interested

Imagine being diagnosed with cancer, but you don't have transportation to your treatment appointments. Every day, patients in our area miss potentially life-saving cancer treatment appointments because they can't afford transportation or are too ill to drive themselves. This is a new program, so the need for volunteers is great!

The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program provides free transportation to and from treatment for people who have cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves.

You can help patients access potentially life-saving cancer treatments by volunteering to drive them to and from local treatment centers. We desperately need volunteer drivers. Volunteer drivers donate their time and resources to take patients to treatment and back home again. They also provide encouragement and support. Drivers must have a valid driver's license for the state where they live. They must also have a safe, reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance. Volunteer drivers must have a good driving history and be in good health.
