Become trained to work directly with children and family members, helping to create a relaxed environment at Mary Abbott Children’s House by playing games and talking. Volunteers are used on an on-call basis, due to the emergency nature of our work, and set according to each volunteer’s schedule. We will be able to let volunteer's know about a week in advance when they'll be needed as a volunteer for scheduled cases.

The mission statement of the Mary Abbott Children's House is to provide a child-friendly facility where a multi-disciplinary team works collaboratively to reduce the trauma associated with response, evaluation and treatment in child abuse cases.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Volunteer hours will take place in 2-4 hour chunks depending on the case you volunteer for.
  • You will be required to attend a volunteer orientation training where you learn your role as a child advocate here at Mary Abbott Children's House. This orientation should take about 1 hour to complete.
