Help share the importance of blood donation in your community.
The Blood Center has launched an Associate Board of young professionals and leaders in the community to help share the importance of blood donation. The goal of this board is to help build networks and create awareness for the Blood Center, increasing our volunteer network, and support special events. The Board is a part of the St. Louis branch of Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, whose offices are located in Earth City, Missouri.
Anyone from full-time professionals, college students, to stay-at-home-parents are welcome to be a part of this opportunity. We want a diverse and well rounded board of those aged 20-49 who want to use their connections to help us save lives, one pint at a time. This is a non governance board with no financial responsibilities, and is focused on outreach.
The board meets once every two months, with potential informal meetings scattered throughout the year.

Description
Formed in 1974, Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center (MVRBC) is an independent, not-for-profit organization that plays an integral role in the community's health. MVRBC has reliably served the regional and national community for over 30 years, collecting more than 180,000 units annually in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Missouri.
MVRBC is community-based and wholly dependent on blood collections from volunteer donors. Once local needs are met, MVRBC assists a national network of community blood centers through a resource-sharing program. Licensed by the US Food & Drug Administration and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, MVRBC is a member of America's Blood Centers, North America's largest network of nonprofit community centers, which collects half of the US blood supply.
