ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross

Calling all retirees, professionals, and couples looking for a rewarding opportunity to volunteer as a Blood Driver or Blood Drive Volunteer with our humanitarian organization! The Red Cross is holding an Information Session in October. Come learn about our mission, vision, values and how to become a Biomedical Volunteer. Positions include:

Transportation Specialist for Blood Driver Responsibility:
* Transport blood from collection sites to the laboratory for processing. Transport blood to area hospitals as routine or "stat" deliveries
* Pick up and return boxes as needed and complete all necessary paperwork. Drive in a safe and responsible manner
* Exhibit five key courtesies: respect, compassion, communication, collaboration, and competence.
Minimum Requirements:
* One shift per month for six months
* Professional, clear and diplomatic communication skills
* Comfortable driving in various conditions

Donor Ambassador or Blood Drive Volunteer

· Assist with Reception and Hospitality at blood drives

· Volunteers will be helping the Red Cross provide a high level of customer service to blood donors during shifts of approximately four to six hours

·This position is open to people who have transportation, enjoy working with people and have an interest in honing customer service skills

·Specific responsibilities include greeting donors and offering refreshments

·Must be at least 18 years old
