HELP A HOME-BOUND RAVENNA PATIENT WITH GROCERY SHOPPING AND VACUUMING.

For as little time as a lunch hour a couple of times a month, you can make a huge impact on a home-bound hospice patient in Ravenna and their family.

As a Grace Hospice Volunteer, you will provide much needed relief by grocery shopping (paid for by the patient) and very light housekeeping. BTW, the patient is super nice too and would enjoy the companionship during your visits. Grocery shop for two while doing your own....all done at the convenience of your own schedule.

We have an immediate need for a volunteer in Ravenna, but have on-going volunteer needs in the Ravenna/Streetsboro/Kent and surrounding areas. We'll match you with someone close by, and your required commitment is for the amount of time YOU want and have to offer. It's a win-win for everyone.

To make this kind of difference, contact Johanna Henderson, Volunteer Coordinator at Grace Hospice. 330-899-0180, or jhenderson@ghospice.com.

Thank you!

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of days, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing.

Description

Hospice is the health care system that mandates the involvement of volunteers. This reflects the history of the hospice movement in the United States, which started as an all-volunteer system.

Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of a terminal illness. At HarmonyCares Hospice, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our Volunteers play a key role in our mission. The hospice philosophy reaches beyond the physical needs of a patient and ensures that a patient spend their final days in comfort and with dignity.

HarmonyCares Hospice volunteers are as diverse as our professional staff. Compassion and caring are the hallmarks of any great hospice volunteer, and their involvement is a vital part of our team.
