Compeer Mentoring for Youth , ages 14-17, is looking for adult Mentors that offer friendship, encouragement and promote positive goals. Compeer Youth Mentors are trained in topics related to mental health recovery, emotional and social wellness for teens. Compeer Mentors are only required to offer communication and friendship to Youth by phone calls, meeting at a community activity (for lunch, walking dogs, a ball game, crafts) , and facilitated Compeer Group social events.

Teens are faced with many challenges and it's easy to start feeling lost among peers and their communities. Some teens have only one parent that is busy with earning to meet the daily needs of a family. Our Compeer Mentors offer a supportive ear and give teens a feeling of belonging. Our Compeer Mentors help teens feel like they matter. This kind of support changes the direction of life choices for teens.

Compeer Mentors create their own volunteer time schedule each month. This way volunteering fits around all other monthly obligations and activities. Compeer asks Mentors to aim for only 4 hours of volunteer mentoring time. Ongoing support is offered by Compeer staff who work in the mental health field.
