Are you looking for a way to help your community for a few hours a week?
Do you have some time after school and not mind doing a little bit of lifting, unboxing and sorting?
Are you organized and able to do a project from start to finish?
Are you 16 or older?
Kindred Hospice could use your help!
Kindred Hospice Volunteers provide emotional support and companionship, comfort, and respite to our patients and families. All of our patients have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and have a prognosis of 6 months or less to live. They have opted for palliative care, rather than pursuing further curative treatment. We strive to enable our patients to live their last days in the most fulfilling manner possible, whether they choose to do so in their home or in a nursing facility.
Our administrative volunteers help our staff in the office with completing behind-the scenes tasks to make sure our patients are getting the care and support they deserve. Kindred offices are open from 8am-5pm, and we could use a volunteer for 1 1/2 hours to help with unboxing patient supplies, sorting them into bags, and labeling the bags for delivery to patients. Volunteer shifts are available Thursday and Friday from 9am - 5pm and a volunteer can work just one day a week, or do multiple shifts.
Requirements:
Volunteer must be 16 or older
Volunteer must be someone who (once shown how to do task) is Self directed and able to complete tasks without a great deal of assistance
Volunteer must be able to lift, bend and turn.
Volunteer must complete Volunteer Application and Paperwork, Volunteer Background Check, and Health Screen/Drug Screen/Tb test (completed with Volunteer Manager)
Volunteer will receive Volunteer Orientation and training in their role.
